Engage with City Hall through Our Free Mobile App

Track and report city issues with local government anytime, anywhere with our new mobile app. The city of South San Francisco has launched its own mobile app, Engage SSF, which allows you to send a request for service, make suggestions, or comment on city policy on any Wi-Fi enabled device such as a smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. Residents are invited to download Engage SSF on the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play (for Android devices). Learn more about the app on the official website or call the Information Technology Department at (650) 829-3915.

“Connecting with our residents, businesses, and visitors is vitally important to the City,” said South San Francisco Mayor Rich Garbarino, “and through Engage SSF, anyone can reach City Hall easily from almost anywhere, anytime, creating true community engagement. It will also result in faster response time by the city and allow residents to track the status of their service request—both big improvements.”

The City of South San Francisco partnered with SeeClickFix, an app developer specializing in community engagement, to launch the new online and mobile application. “We are thrilled to be working with the City of South San Francisco,” said SeeClickFix CEO Ben Berkowitz. “This partnership will help to extend the high-quality service that South San Francisco residents have come to expect, while engaging these citizens in the process to improve both the efficiency and quality of service. We are looking forward to a long and productive partnership!”

Through the Engage SSF app, users can easily report an issue or concern, which automatically dispatches a service request to the specific department responsible for the issue. Users can then track the report online as requests are acknowledged and completed by city departments. Engage SSF will also be used to solicit ideas from the public and city employees to improve the city or the operation of city government.

The new technology aims to improve city government response to public requests. It will also reduce the number of telephone calls to city departments, organize large, aggregate data into useful information, and provide greater transparency for all public service requests.

Engage SSF is only for non-emergency issues. For emergencies requiring immediate attention or a police or fire response, the public should continue to call 9-1-1.
